Are you a light?
This morning I read a devotional by Joyce Meyers about letting your light shine. The reference scripture was Matthew 5:16 – “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your father in heaven.”
In her devotional she quotes famous philosopher and orator Edmund Burke who once said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
Are you guilty of doing nothing? Do you see things happen or hear things said and not react? Is it easier to do this rather than to “rock the boat” and hold people accountable?
I know I have been guilty of this. Not saying anything or not doing anything and then wishing I had done so later. Or saying to myself, I’m only one person what can I do? How will I make a difference?
As Christians we often act as if we are powerless and think that our actions make no difference, but God’ word tells us that we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:31-38).
We should never grow weary of doing good (Galations 6:9). People are always watching what we do – looking to see how we act and react. Many times your life is the only Bible people will see.

Let your light shine today and every day. Don’t allow the world’s voice to be louder than God’s. We are all called to be disciples and lead lives that bring honor and glory to God. Let your life boldly speak God’s word.
Stand on God’s promises. Allow His strength to give you the courage you need to speak and do the things that He requires. Know that through Him, all things are possible.
And remember evil only wins when good people, or should I say God people, do nothing.
Be Blessed,
Kee
