Calm and Peaceful
I have been reading I Declare by Joel Osteen, which is 31 days of things to declare (verbally) over your life. The declaration for day 20 is: “I DECLARE that I am calm and peaceful. I will not let people or circumstances upset me. I will rise above every difficulty, knowing that God has given me the power to remain calm. I choose to live my life happy, bloom where I am planted, and let God fight my battles. This is my declaration.”
Are you in circumstances that you would rather not be in? Are you dealing with difficult people? If so, what has your response been? Do you respond in kind? Do you seek revenge? Are you waiting for God to “get that person back” for you?
The declaration above shows us what our response should be. We should know that we are victorious over circumstances because we are more than conquerors through Christ. We should choose (it is a choice) to live happy in spite of difficulties. When we allow people and circumstances to dictate our happiness, we are giving that person or circumstance power over us. Who or what are you giving power to?
God asks nothing of us that he hasn’t already equipped us to do. You can grow and blossom in the midst of difficulty. How? By staying focused on God and not the difficulty and remaining calm so that you can hear the direction He’s giving you. It may not look the way you want it to look, but remember, God is in control.
Several months ago, I finished a study on Joseph; what an amazing story! In spite of being sold into slavery, jailed, and many other things, Joseph kept his faith and believed that God was actually the reason for him being where he was. How many of us, in the midst of a trials, trust and believe that God’s ultimate plan for our lives will come to pass. God gave Joseph a dream and he continued to believe in it and in God, even when it didn’t look as if it was coming true.
What has God promised you? What dream has He given you? Is it possible that the circumstances and difficulties that you’re encountering are preparing you for the dream? Ask God and see what He has to say.

Remember to stay calm and peaceful in the midst of difficulty (circumstances or people). God has equipped you to do so and when you are, you can hear Him and have peace knowing that He is fighting for you.
As I started writing the blog, the enemy (I believe) began trying to take my peace, but I won’t allow him to. The fact that he is rearing his head as I work on this lets me know that I am doing what I’m supposed to be doing – sharing God’s word with you.
Pray for me, and I will pray for you.
Be blessed,
Kisha
